About Us
My name is John P. Hardcastle, and I serve as webmaster for this site.
I have researched Hardcastle family history as a hobby since 1990. Focus of this site
is on the descendants of William Hardcastle, who likely was born in Virginia in 1714, and
who left a Will in North Carolina in 1777. I am a great-great-great-great grandson
of William Hardcastle. For purposes of this website I will refer to him as
William (1714). Most of my research has been on my direct lineage back to him.
It would be a great accomplishment to establish other lineages back to William (1714).
I am hopeful this site will serve as a resource to help solve those family history
puzzles.
Family history research is not an exact science. Mistakes will be
made. I am sure there are mistakes in some of my conclusions, even though I do not
publish a conclusion without having a logical reason. Please E-Mail me with any
corrections or additions to the data.
This website is presently under
construction. When on line, the site will contain a database of digitized copies
of historical documents related to our ancestors. The database concept will facilitate
adding people and data for use by all persons interested in Hardcastle family history.
My eldest son, Jeffrey P. Hardcastle, has a wealth of experience managing databases in
web based applications. His expertise will be evident when we get this application
on line
For several years I have operated a website on another server titled
"The Hardcastle Family of Central Arkansas". That site was for the descendants of my
great-grandfather, Dr. John Hardcastle. We recently obtained the domain name
"HardcastleFamily.com", and we have moved the entire contents of "The Hardcastle Family
of Central Arkansas" to the new domain. We will maintain "The Hardcastle Family of
Central Arkansas" at the new location while we are constructing the new site titled
"The Hardcastle Family in America". We will be announcing start date for the new site
in the very near future.
If you are new to Hardcastle family history research
or are having difficulty locating your ancestors, please send me an E-Mail. I can
usually guide you in the right direction if you can name one of your ancestors who was
born prior to 1930. I'll be happy to try to help you.
We hope you enjoy!
Come back often for updates. Please E-Mail with comments.
